Introduced by Alex Bols, Assistant Director (Research) & Head of Higher Education and Kate Wicklow, Student Engagement Manager, National Union of Students
You know all about Questions 1- 22 of the National Student Survey.  But are you ready for Question 23……. ?
This session explores the implications of the new question which will invite views on the impact of the Student Union on the student experience – in the knowledge that the findings will feature prominently as part of the new Key Information Sets available to prospective students from 2012 onwards.
12.00 – 13.00                Joint Seminar Session: Is everybody happy?
Introduced by Rob Behrens, Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education
Cases handled by the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA) show an apparently inexorable rise year on year.  High expectations on the part of students and staff are all to the good – but by the time complaints reach the OIA, often good relations have already gone bad.  This session looks at the part played by institutional processes and by student representatives in ensuring complaints can be dealt with fairly and appropriately within institutions without necessarily escalating to reach the OIA.

13.00 – 14.00                 Lunch

2.00 – 3.15     Separate Sessions for staff and SU representatives
