Today’s report from the Education Committee on higher education and funding clearly outlines HE providers as strong pillars in civic and economic life, and calls for urgent sector support.

Our Chief Executive Officer Dr Brooke Storer-Church commented on the report's findings:

GuildHE endorses the Education Committee's position that HE providers are essential civic and economic anchors. By calling for a reduction in the cumulative cost of regulation and advocating for deeper coordination across regulators and government, it strengthens the message that HE is inherently a public good and must be supported with whole system leadership, not piecemeal policy reform.

“We must have a long-term vision for the sector rather than decisions based on short-term political priorities. This will protect the accessibility of provision, ensuring our higher education system remains world-leading, robust, integrated, and accessible to all.
