On Tuesday 28 January, GuildHE CEO Dr Brooke Storer-Church updated members on how we’re working with the Office for Students between now and August 2025. This is in response to the Higher Education Policy Institute publishing a blog by Lord Johnson about the recent OfS announcement to pause DAPs, university title and registration processes. The pause will be debated in the House of Lords this week on Thursday 30 January.
Whilst we remain disappointed by the OfS’ decision to discontinue some of its essential work, GuildHE has turned its attention to working with OfS to ensure that August 2025 sees the relaunch of much-improved processes to support a healthy and innovative sector.
These processes have taken too long and proved overly cumbersome for those members we’ve supported through them over the past five years.
Given our insights, we see an opportunity to ensure the revised processes are more responsive to our members, more transparent, and built on stronger communication between them and the OfS.
We will continue to work hard for our members through this type of advocacy and influence across the funding and regulatory landscape.
