Higher Education: Transforming Places

GuildHE is pleased to announce that the 2018 Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting will be held on 20 and 21 November 2018 at Abertay University, Dundee. 

The conference will explore the role of UK higher education in driving local, regional, national and international transformation. Keynote speakers and panellists will be announced as they are confirmed.

Building on GuildHE’s commitment to student engagement, we are once again inviting SU officers to attend the conference at a subsidised rate. We are also pleased to confirm that all prices have been frozen at 2016 levels and that discounted early-bird rates are available until midnight on 1 September.

Conference Fees

Early Bird – Before 1 September

• First delegate – £275
• Addition delegates – £225

Standard

• First delegate – £300
• Additional delegates from the same institution – £250
• Day delegate including dinner – £200
• Day delegate – £150

SU Officers

• Full conference – £50

Overnight Accommodation

GuildHE has secured accommodation for up to 60 people at the Apex City Quay Hotel for the night of the 20 November. A further 20 rooms have been secured for the night of 19 November, should delegates wish to travel up the day before the conference. These rooms will be charged at £86 per night, including breakfast (single occupancy).

GuildHE will allocate these rooms on a first-come-first-served basis. Rooms will be held until 25 September, at which point any excess rooms will be released for general booking through the Hotel.

GuildHE will subsidise SU Officer accommodation by £50.

Transport

Dundee is a well-connected city, compact city, easy to navigate on foot and to access by rail or road.

The city is served by daily flights from London Stansted, arriving in Dundee at 10:55 and 20:45, and departing at 06:50 or 16:40. We have planned the agenda to allow delegates to arrive on the 10:55 flight, and depart on the 16:40 flight should this be required.

Alternatively, delegates can fly to Edinburgh, from where there is a frequent rail service to Dundee.
