GuildHE is the representative body for smaller and specialist higher education institutions championing distinction and diversity in the sector across the UK. Our 60 members include universities, university colleges, further education colleges and specialist institutions, representing over 150,000 students. Member institutions include some major providers in professional subject areas including art, design and media, music and the performing arts; agriculture and food; education; business and law, theology, the built environment; health and sports.

GuildHE media spokespeople include: 

• GuildHE Chair: Prof Anthony McClaran, Vice Chancellor at St Mary’s University Twickenham. Previously the CEO of Australian HE regulator TEQSA plus UCAS and QAA in the UK
• GuildHE CEO: Dr Brooke Storer-Church. Responsible for leading GuildHE as a key representative and advocacy body in the higher education sector. Leads on communicating with government and other stakeholders on higher education issues. Prior to joining GuildHE in June 2024, Brooke spent two years as Director of Strategic Engagement at Birmingham City University (2022-2024), four years as Head of Skills at OFS (2018-2022), and six years working in a variety of roles across a wide range of policy areas at HEFCE.
