Unique access to tools, training, databases and trackers as part of our shared subscription model. Our members get exclusive access to transformative tools, at a cost suitable to their scale and research environment.
We offer a shared research outputs repository to our member institutions as part of our ongoing support of their research infrastructure. This is administered by Co-Sector at the University of London Computing Centre. By working with a dedicated and responsive developer, we have been able to offer this essential piece of research infrastructure which records, stores, documents, and maintains the research outputs (articles, monographs, images, video etc) and searchable records (metadata) of those institutions at an affordable rate. An output repository is essential for submitting to REF.
Our arrangement with Co-Sector provides users with:
We also offer a Jiscmail forum.
GuildHE Research provides its members access to the Hivve Impact Tracker at a reduced cost per participating institution.
The impact tracker enables institutions to identify, capture, measure and report the impact of their research. It can be a valuable tool in supporting institutions to develop their REF Impact Case Studies.
Hivve works with research organisations globally and, released in 2014, the Impact Tracker is being used by approximately 50 organisations in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, The Netherlands, New Zealand and the United Kingdom with over 6,500 active users.
We offer access for our members to a unique series of Online Postgraduate Researcher Training provided by the University of East Anglia.
The training offers research and professional skills training for postgraduate research students (PGRs) in a ‘live-taught’ online format. The series is organised and administered by Dr Simon Watts, PGR Training Coordinator for the Faculty of Social Sciences at UEA, who also teaches the majority of sessions.
The training is delivered in modules, with dates throughout the academic year. It covers the full spectrum of generic researcher skills needed for completing your postgraduate study, including:
The information is targeted at PGR students, however early stage researchers may also find the content useful.
The training is designed to flexibly meet PGR students needs. Sessions are delivered online on weekday evenings between 7pm-9pm and modules are available multiple times across a year.
GuildHE Research offers a shared subscription to the Vitae Researcher Development Framework (RDF) Planner, a recognised UK framework and tool for tracking researchers' professional development.
The tool helps researchers identify competencies, work towards areas for development, and to monitor progress against set objectives. Institutions get access to resources and best practice in researcher development and are able to monitor organisational use and generate reports for benchmarking and evaluation.
Each institution manages their own instance of the planner and is free to use the tool as appropriate at their own institution, with some embedding the framework into PGCert courses, whilst others allow researchers to use it more flexibly.
