Member institutions of the Teacher Education Advisory Group have today received notification of the outcome of the second stage of the ITT re-accreditation process. Whilst many members were successful in this exercise there were some key institutions which had not got through the process. TEAG is concerned about the impact the loss of such long-standing providers of ITT will have both on the supply of teachers and the geographical spread of provision across the country. We support the attempt to ensure consistent quality of teacher education in all providers but we are deeply concerned at the loss of such experienced educational establishments and the impact this will have on the profession.”
