Advance HE invites GuildHE members to join a consultation session exploring the implementation of the new Code of Governance and the development of its draft Governance Effectiveness Framework.

The session will provide an opportunity to hear more about the proposed framework, share feedback and help shape its development. It will also explore how the framework could support institutions in addressing the challenges of implementing their Code of Governance and strengthening their approach to governance effectiveness and continuous improvement.

Advance HE is particularly keen to hear members’ views on:

  • The proposed framework: feedback on its concept and presentation, including its structure, language and clarity.
  • Governance reviews and continuous improvement: potential implications or challenges for self-led and institution-led governance reviews.
  • Independent reviews: opportunities to align institution-led reviews with independent reviews.

Who should attend?

The session will be particularly relevant to University Secretaries and senior governance professionals, Chairs of Boards, Chairs of Governance and Nominations Committees, and colleagues with responsibility for or oversight of governance effectiveness.
