GuildHE is pleased to host a one-hour webinar in partnership with Shakespeare Martineau exploring the evolving expectations around institutional neutrality in higher education.
As institutions navigate increasing regulatory, legal and public scrutiny, particularly in relation to free speech, academic freedom and values-based decision-making, questions of institutional neutrality have become both complex and pressing.
This session, led and facilitated by Smita Jamdar, Partner & Head of Education at Shakespeare Martineau, will examine what institutional neutrality means in practice, how it interacts with legal and regulatory duties, and the implications for institutional policies, governance and leadership.
Drawing on legal expertise and real-world sector examples, the webinar will support institutions to understand risk, respond proportionately, and maintain confidence in their decision-making while upholding institutional values.
This session will be of particular interest to senior leaders, governance professionals, policy teams, and those responsible for compliance, academic freedom and freedom of speech.
