Key achievements include:

  • Securing changes to REF2029 policies, specifically the removal of monographs from the Open Access requirements
  • Shaping the actions promised by UKRI’s New Deal for Postgraduate Research Students to ensure diverse students, those following part-time programmes, and self-funded students are considered more effectively
  • Leading the sector in conversations on research integrity in collaboration with key funders and organisations, including UKCORI, UKRI, Wellcome, Universities UK, Cancer Research UK and the Scottish Funding Council
  • Championing diversity and inclusion and launching a Global Majority PGR Network in response to the recommendations of commisioned peer-led research.

We are thankful to our members for their ongoing collegiality and commitment, and to GHE Research Director, Professor John Strachan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Research & Enterprise at Bath Spa University for his unerring support.
