GuildHE welcomes the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education evaluation report of ‘Evaluation of International Pathway Programmes’. The rapid review, which was part funded by GuildHE, the Russell Group and UUK, was commissioned in recognition of a significant focus on recruitment and admissions which was causing concern for students, their parents and the public.

Dr Brooke Storer-Church, Chief Executive GuildHE said:

“We thank QAA for undertaking the independent review ‘Evaluation of International Pathway Programmes’ on behalf of the sector so that we may evaluate our current provision.

“As a sector, we want all students, regardless of background or domicile, to succeed in higher education. This report has found that overall, higher education institutions are using this pathway to prepare international students for the high standards needed to complete a UK degree.

“We hope that this report provides reassurance to the public that higher education maintains robust admissions standards and is receptive to enhancing and collaborating on improving the student experience with transparency in our decision-making.

“We look forward to working with the sector in actioning the recommendations within the report and ensuring that the system remains world-leading, fair and open.”
